Why you should not leave fragile items in your checked bag when flying

The above picture is a pile of broken UMD cases for Sony PSP games. My Hubby took the PSP on a flight with him, which he generally does and that's the reason we bought a PSP was so he could have it on the plane to watch movies & play games. On this trip he was fazzled and left it in his "checked" bag by accident and when he got his bag at the end of his flight all the games and movies he had were broken, ooops!
I called our local Gamestop, where I am a very frequent customer because I have a game addiction but that's a whole other blog post! anyway I call and speak to the manager who tells me there is absolutely, positively no way to change those little plastic cases out. He actually goes so far as to tell me if the cases break or crack you might as well just throw the games in the trash because they are worthless.
Unable to accept this fate for my beloved PSP games and movies I began searching the internet and this is what I found. There are actually numerous different websites that you can buy replacement UMD cases for your Sony PSP games and movies. some had shady reviews and after hours of searching I decided to order these cases from amazon.com at $12.99 w/ free shipping for ten replacement cases I figured even if the sucked and didn't work at least I tried to save my games.
They arrived really quick, packaged very well and secure. While there were no directions included I would imagine anyone with a few brain cells left would be able to figure it out since the cases only fit together one way.....lol

You basically have a top piece and a bottom piece, you place your game or movie disc picture side down on the piece that does not have a notch cut in it for reading the disc. then you snap the top piece in place the only way it will fit and you are good to go!
These cases are much sturdier than the original Sony cases and they look better too! If you have a PSP I recommend having a few of these bad boys on hand for little oopsies.

All better now :)
